Niykee is still writing songs despite having been caught up in the recent crisis. Niykee was selected for her participation in YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. She is a constant magnet for producers who are just starting out. A lot of beats she hears from producers spark songs. After just five minutes when I'm able to determine if a particular beat is worthwhile. After that I am able to see the concept of a song's whole concept in my brain and I start to write. While I'm at my front porch, playing guitar, my lyrics simply flow and are usually written in fewer than thirty minutes. Niykee says that when she develops as a lyricist and musician, her memories of her childhood serve as an inspiratoin. The hurt I experienced growing as a child as well as the loss of my sister are evident in my songs, even when they are not literal. It influences my music and adds a greater sense of meaning that I believe is very important. I want to be able listen to my music 20 years from now and be proud of what I have to say.
