After being inspired initially through the shadows she saw on the grass of the trees and the shadows she saw on the trees, she set out to create a method that did not depict an object as a two-dimensional picture. The object becomes a representation of its own, and the canvas carries its own interpretation painted by the object, particularly when it's a live item or something perishable, for example, fruit or humans. Alexa's style of painting has an ephemeral quality, and all left of Alexa Meade's art is her photographs. As the photographic and painting techniques are synchronized so tightly it creates the trompe-l'oeil effect in which it appears as if three dimensions appears only at specific points, such as the eye area or the hair. Meade often integrates her model in the environment around her and allows the model to be a part of the context of their own. The boundaries between performance, installation, photography and painting can be dissolved.
