She's covered sports for several of the biggest publications around the world. She was a reporter for The Washington Post nearly a decade covering Grand Slam Tennis and Grand Slam Football as well being a basketball reporter at numerous Olympics. In 2004 Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a nine-year run where she won two Emmy Awards and appeared on some of the network's most frequented shows such as SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. Only the second woman has been chosen from more than two hundred nominations in the long history of the honor.
